Short answer. Wash after every shift. Do not leave damp medical scrubs in a tote overnight. Skip fabric softener. Hang to finish dry so odor cannot sit in the elastane.
Odor is a laundry problem first
Damp cotton-poly in a closed bag is a culture medium. A tote is not a hamper. Unzip, hang, wash.
Detergent
A simple enzyme detergent is enough. Skip dye-stripping sport formulas unless you like faded teal.
