Fit

How should medical scrub pants fit at the waist on a long shift?

Short answer. The waist should stay put without a death grip. If you are pulling them up after every squat, the rise or the drawcord is wrong. Medical scrubs cannot be a twelve-hour tug.

Death grip

Leaves a mark and still fails when you sit. Tight is not the same as stable.

Drop

Is a rise miss. Size letter will not fix a low rise by magic.
