Short answer. Black works in hospitals when policy allows it. Some floors assign Black; others keep Black as optional personality. Confirm before it is your only set.

Overhead light changes Black. Look at it in a hallway, not only in a bedroom mirror. Medical scrubs have to survive fluorescent honesty.
If the floor is conservative
Keep Black as a second set after navy. Orientation week is not the time to test a color the handbook never mentioned.
